Wendy Van Nooten<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In 2003, I obtained a degree in Physical Education (Sports Sciences) from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Subsequently, I pursued studies in Osteopathy at the International Academy of Osteopathy (IAO) in Ghent. Since 2007, I have been practicing as an osteopath. Following my osteopathic training, I started assisting and later taught at various schools both domestically and internationally.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0My passion and specialization within osteopathy in teh first years grew largely in the craniosacral area. Craniosacral refers to the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord, extending all the way down to the tailbone or sacrum area. It requires a very specific approach and a focus on soft touch to heal these areas. This approach and deeper understanding of the mind\/body complex encouraged many other new doors to open. I experienced, among other things, the importance of emotions. The way our bodies hold on to them and how they can influence our structure and internal functioning (physiology).\u00a0<\/p>\n

In my treatments, I encourage a deeper connection with tissues, the subconscious, or emotions that may be suppressed or with which there is over-identification.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I aim to discover what the body reflects at that moment and request the symptoms to translate, possibly expressing a movement or behavioral pattern. I try to let the body speak and seek to touch the life force connected to your essence. Sometimes there is protection\/trauma\/judgment. By recognizing these protective reactions and being able to stay present with what was once severed, the body can now release tensions on its own.<\/p>\n

In practice, I address a wide variety of complaints. From headache complaints, chronic back pain, digestive problems, hyperventilation complaints, sleep problems, menstrual complaints, pregnancy aspirations, emotional issues, etc.<\/p>\n

A craniosacral approach is highly suitable for complaints after whiplash, concussion, and residual injuries from acute trauma.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I work well with cry babies, babies with digestive issues, sleep problems, reflux, skin issues, etc.<\/p>\n

I achieve positive results with growing children experiencing tensions and finding it difficult to express themselves, sometimes children with diagnoses of behavioral issues, ADD, ADHD, autism.<\/p>\n
